At RentNow, we strive to provide a transparent and fair cancellation policy for both our renters and hosts. Below are the terms and conditions under which cancellations can occur.
Who We Are
1. General Cancellation Terms
Free Cancellation within 24 Hours: Renters can cancel their booking within 24 hours of making a reservation for a full refund, provided the cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start of the rental.
Non-Refundable Service Fees: All service fees paid to RentNow are non-refundable unless the host initiates the cancellation.
2. Cancellation Policies by Rental Type
a. Properties (Homes and Apartments):
– Cancellation more than 7 days before check-in: Full refund of the rental amount.
– Cancellation between 7 days and 24 hours before check-in: 50% refund of the rental amount.
– Cancellation less than 24 hours before check-in: No refund.
b. Vehicles (Cars, Bikes, and Scooters):
– Cancellation more than 3 days before rental starts: Full refund of the rental amount.
– Cancellation between 3 days and 24 hours before rental starts: 50% refund of the rental amount.
– Cancellation less than 24 hours before rental starts: No refund.
3. Host-Initiated Cancellations
– Full Refund: If the host cancels a reservation, the renter will be fully refunded, including any service fees paid.
– Host Considerations: While we understand that cancellations may occasionally be unavoidable, frequent cancellations may affect the host’s visibility in search results or result in further action to maintain the quality of service on our platform.
4. Extenuating Circumstances
In certain cases, RentNow may override the standard cancellation policies due to extenuating circumstances, such as:
– Natural disasters
– Severe illness or injury
– Government-imposed travel restrictions
– Death of an immediate family member
– Proof of the extenuating circumstance may be required to qualify for a full refund.
5. No-Shows and Early Departures
– No-Shows: If the renter does not arrive and has not communicated with the host, this will be treated as a cancellation with no refund.
– Early Departures: If the renter leaves earlier than the scheduled check-out, unused time will not be refunded.
6. Modifications to Reservations
– Changes: Any modifications to a reservation (such as extending or shortening the rental period) are subject to the host’s approval and may result in additional charges.
– Cancellation of Modified Reservations: If a reservation is modified, the cancellation policy will apply based on the original booking dates unless otherwise agreed upon with the host.
7. Refund Processing
– Timeframe: Refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days.
– Currency Exchange Rates: RentNow is not responsible for any changes in exchange rates between the time of booking and the time of refund.
8. Disputes and Resolution
– Contact RentNow Support: If you have any concerns or disputes regarding cancellations or refunds, contact RentNow Support within 14 days of the rental start date.
– Final Decision: RentNow reserves the right to make the final decision regarding cancellations in any disputes.
9. Policy Updates
– RentNow reserves the right to update or modify this cancellation policy. Users will be notified of any significant changes via email or through platform notifications.
